Hundreds of worshippers are lined up in rows as they perform a prayer for rain as extreme heat hits Bangladesh this week. Hoards of people performed the prayer at a playground in Lalbagh, Dhaka after local authorities shut down schools across the country with temperatures exceeding 42 degrees in some locations. Bangladeshi authorities have reported that the average maximum temperature in the capital of Dhaka over the last week has been 4-5 degrees Celsius higher than the 30-year average for the same period. It is tradition to pray for water during droughts like this. To get relief from the condition of drought or drought, one has to repent to Allah Ta'ala, perform two rakat nafal prayers and pray for rain. This prayer is called Istikhar prayer.
