La rivicre Athabasca a ete, detournee, polluee en amont par les industries du sable bitumineux. On y peche des poissons deformes. Les peuples autochtones ne peuvent plus la boire. "Aujourd'hui les contaminations toxiques sont partout. Dans l'eau, dans les arbres, dans les animaux...Les fumees se repandent et impactent les plantes et la nourritures des animaux.
