All change for LFW Show Space as it moves into the Brewer St carpark in SohoLondon Fashion Week is now "open to all" at its new base in Soho, say organisers. The industry showcase, which kicked off today, has a space in Golden Square and a programme of public events alongside invite-only presentations. "London Fashion Week's creative energy is original, energetic and unforgettable," said British Fashion Council chairwoman Natalie Massenet. "It's open to all as we expand the event and welcome Londoners and visitors to London to join the celebrations in Golden Square." The five-day fashion week is based at Brewer Street car park for the first time rather than Somerset House, its home for the past half-decade.Organisers hope the move will help make it more accessible, "bring a buzz" to Soho and boost fashion week footfall. However, some fear it will bring chaos to the area. The 62nd London Fashion Week opened today with a show from Central Saint Martin's graduate JJS Lee. It will feature 78 designers presenting their spring/summer 2016 collections including Anya Hindmarch, Burberry Prorsum, Hunter Original, Paul Smith, Pringle of Scotland, Topshop Unique, Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Christopher Kane, Emilia Wickstead, Jonathan Saunders, JW Anderson, Mary Katrantzou, Simone Rocha, Sophia Webster and Thomas Tait.
