Ezra Nawi, a Jewish Israeli, directed protesters in Hebron Hills in the West Bank in June 2009. Nawi faces a possible prison sentence for a 2007 confrontation in the South Hebron hills. It is perhaps best to think of Nawi as the Robin Hood of the South Hebron hills, an Israeli helping poor locals who love him, and thwarting settlers and soldiers who view him with contempt.
