Ezra Nawi, a Jewish Israeli, helped Palestinians set up an outpost adorned with the Palestinian colors to protest an illegal Israeli settlement in Hebron Hills in the West Bank in June 2009. Nawi faces a possible prison sentence for a 2007 confrontation in the South Hebron hills. It is perhaps best to think of Nawi as the Robin Hood of the South Hebron hills, an Israeli helping poor locals who love him, and thwarting settlers and soldiers who view him with contempt.
