(NYT23) NEW YORK -- Jan. 16, 2008 -- REDFORD-DAUGHTER-DECOR-3 -- The interior of Amy Redford's home in New York in January 2008. Redford, a daughter of Robert Redford, is bringing the first film she has directed to the Sundance Film Festival. It is called "The Guitar," and it deals with a self-effacing young woman, drab and unassertive as a dead leaf in February, who, told she has two months to live, leaves her basement apartment, rents a New York City loft and maxes out her credit cards, furnishing it with opulent and luxurious stuff. "She's indulging herself in things she's denied herself not as a greedy impulse, but because she's feeling worthy," Redford says. (Chester Higgins Jr./The New York Times)
