(NYT26) WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Aug. 22, 2002 -- BBY-LITTLE-LEAGUE -- When Jimmy Cortez's 9-year-old son asks his father about the looming baseball strike, he tells his son about the Harlem Little League team instead. "Those guys are getting paid millions of dollars," Cortez said of major league baseball players Thursday on a Harlem street corner. "The kids play because they love to play the game." The Harlem Little League was tied 2-2 with the team from Worcester, Mass., Thursday night in South Williamsport, Pa. The winner of that game was to play an international team for the championship title on Sunday. Part of a bus load of Harlem residents gather before the start of the game on Thursday. (G.
