They relocated to San Francisco and started making a name of themselves as an outrageous theatrical rock band with front man Fee Waybill. Fee sometimes entered the stage as Quay Lewd on his gigantic boots with a Q-shaped guitar and a crazy wig where he totally flipped out. Tap-dancing, various parodies and dancers frequented the stage during a Tubes show. Even though the band had their most active time in the 70s and 80s they released a new live album in 2005. The only gig in Scandinavia.
