Afghanistan, Kabul, 26 August 2021 Dead and wounded arrive at Emergency Hospital for the War Wounded in central Kabul after at least one bomb, and possibly two, likely detonated by a suicied bomber, tore through crowds attempting to access Hamid Karzai International Airport 11 days after the Taliban took control of Kabul and a mass evacuation of foreign citizens and Afghans deemed to be at risk of reprisal from the former insurgent group commenced. Threat reporting has warned of an attack of this nature in recent days, especially at the airport entrance where the blast(s) occurred late this afternoon. The Islamic State Khorasan Province was believed to be plotting the attack and is assumed to have conducted it. Numbers of dead and wounded are unclear at the time of filing, but based on videos from the scene and preliminary figures from Emergency Hospital, scores are likely to have been injured or worse. Les rapports d'alerte ont mis en garde contre une attaque de cette nature ces derniers jours, notamment r l'entree de l'aeroport o? la ou les explosions se sont produites en fin d'aprcs-midi. La province de Khorasan de l'?tat islamique serait r l'origine de l'attentat. Le nombre de morts et de blesses n'est pas encore connu au moment de l'enregistrement de ce rapport, mais d'aprcs les videos de la sccne et les chiffres preliminaires de l'h?pital d'urgence, il est probable que des dizaines de personnes aient ete blessees, voire plus.
