This well has been suspended since 2018 on Alan Taylor's land in Charnwood, Alberta.
"I spent 42 years out there and I don't give a crap about the oil any more," said Alan Taylor. He worked on drilling rigs around Alberta, but now he's retired to his farm. There are two suspended wells on his land. He has never had a problem with the company that owns the wells, but once a well leaked miles away from him and the gas flowed down the creek to his farm. "It had a rank smell to it," he said, but when he called the AER they said that it wasn't hydrogen sulfide. "I only drilled one sour well," Taylor remembered, thinking back to his drilling days, "In the end, it was a dry well. I was happy but the company wasn't."
