Niszczenie lasów Amazonii - Redux
Worker at an illegal gold mine in the Brazilian Amazon, Par? state. Illegal miners are operated by small groups of men, often working with stolen machines and water cannons. It is estimated that there are over 1.000 illegal gold prospectors in the Amazon. This pure gold is worth millions of dollars in the global marketplace, but the high costs for extraction, smuggling and overlapping middlemen in the local market place most prospectors on the brink of poverty. Contrary to environmentalists, President Jair Bolsonaro wants to liberate the Amazon for new mines.
