A patient with the Bedrocan, a cannabis inflorescence drug (Cannabis flos) containing THC (19%). Bedrocan is one of the two drugs based on cannabinoids currently available on the Italian market. Its price in pharmacies is still disproportionate to the actual cost of the product, which is imported from Holland. The price, the difficult bureaucratic process and a certain cultural resistance, make this still an uncommon therapy rarely prescribed. Saracinesco is a small central Italian village of 182 inhabitants. It's 'the site of a pilot project for the cultivation of hemp both for industrial and therapeutic purposes. The project includes the creation of a phyto-therapeutic bio-park and a health resort to treat patients following a medically assisted cannabinoid-based therapy. The project is supported by the city council and by institutions such as the Roma Tre University and the University of Tuscia.
