EXCLUSIVE: **NO NEW YORK POST OR NEWS CORP USAGES** Story from Jam Press (Limb Stretching) Pictured: Doctor Shahab Mahboubian. 'Men will literally do anything': Meet the doctor and TikTok star who claims he can STRETCH patients limbs by up to 5.6 inches by using 'MAGNETIC NAILS' ??" and charges $75,000 for it. Meet the orthopaedic surgeon who is known for stretching limbs ??" claiming he can extend patients' bodies by up to 5.6 inches. Doctor Shahab Mahboubian, 45, from Burbank, California, has been performing height-lengthening surgeries for over 10 years. He is able to stretch patients??? limbs by up to 5.6 inches by cutting through bone and adding an adjustable ???nail???. But the procedure doesn't come cheap ??" costing $75,000 for lengthening of femurs and $85,000 for lengthening of tibias. Clients who want maximum results with a combined approach are looking at a hefty $155,000 fee. And they'll also have to be prepared to put up with the pain. It takes three to four months post-surgery before the patient can walk without assistance and six to eight months until they can do sports again. ??sFor the past few years, I have been able to not only make people taller and walk normally, but I have also been able to raise patients??? confidence and help them achieve their lifelong goals," Dr Mahboubian told Jam Press. "Many people have always dreamt of being taller and I feel humbled to be able to permanently make people taller." He performs between 30 and 40 procedures a year at his practice, the Height Lengthening Institute in Burbank and has recently become a TikTok star, with over 28,000 followers (@heightlengthing). In a viral Tiktok shared on 7 July, Dr Mahboubian shares a patient???s recovery after surgery. The man was 5???5??? and is on track to be 5???8???. Dr. Mahboubian explains: ??sWe have one of our height-lengthening patients here, he did the surgery one week ago. ??sYou can see his little tiny incisions. This is a minimally invasive procedure because we use very small incisions. ??sHe???s healing really nicely, there???s not as much swelling, that???s what we check for on these visits. ??sHe???s able to move his leg. That???s pretty good for a week after surgery, excellent.??? The Tiktok has been viewed over 6.8 million times and has received over 794,000 likes and 19,000 comments. One Tiktok user said: ??sLet???s normalise this like we???ve done the bbl.??? ??sIf I could donate height I would but if they feel more comfortable then I???m happy for them,??? another person added. Someone else quipped: ??sI???m 5???5 1/2. I ain???t doing this for 5???8 everyone the same height during missionary anyway.??? A fourth said: ??sMen will literally do anything but go to therapy." Another Tiktok user who isn???t fazed by height said: ??sI???m 5???10 and I???ve dated guys shorter than me. I???d date someone 5???5.??? Dr. Mahboubian said: "People are shocked that height lengthening exists ??" many people didn't know it is possible to permanently get up to 5.6 inches taller!" Explaining the process, which includes the use of an adjustable 'nail', he added: ??sThe first step in limb-lengthening surgery is to make a small incision just above the hip (for femurs) or at the knee (for tibias) and then surgically cut through the width of the bone to be lengthened. ??sOnce the bone has been cut into two sections, the adjustable 'nail' (Stryde Precice nail) is fitted inside the centre of the bone and secured with locking screws. "There is a magnetic device inside the nail. ??sThe next phase of this procedure can take several weeks to months to complete. "It is called the distraction phase because the cut bone is gently pulled apart using an ERC device to gain about 1mm a day. ??sThe magnet on the ERC device turns which communicates with the nail inside the bone, and there's gears inside the nail which makes your bone lengthen." After about a year after the lengthening process is started, patients return to the clinic to have the nails removed. Dr Mahboubian said: "Over time, the body creates new bone tissue to fill in the gap until the patient???s desired height is achieved. ??sMost candidates are able to increase their height up to 8 cm (3.1 inches) with one lengthening procedure (usually femurs) without any issues. "Additional lengthening of the tibias can be performed to increase height by an additional 6.5 cm (2.5 inches). ??sThe precice nail can withstand up to 75lbs of weight bearing on each side, and you will need to use a walker for up to four months until your bone has healed. ??sYou can go back to your full athletic capability a year after you undergo the procedure ??" it's vital that you are flexible before surgery and do the proper physical therapy after surgery. "The new bone that forms is actually stronger than your natural bone!???
