Kopalnia srebra w Boliwii - Redux
Tourists visiting a plant where minerals like silver and tin are separated from rocks brought from the mines. Potosi province, Bolivia, 2012. Hundreds of tourists form USA and Europe visit the mines every year in order to see the lives of these people who work under extremely hard conditions. Centuries of silver mining have left Cerro Rico mountain in the southern highlands of Bolivia on the verge of collapse. The Spanish forced Quechua Indian slaves into the mines to bankroll their empire. Today, the Quechua own the mines, but conditions here are still brutal.
