Bunker near the beach in the peninsula of Cap Rodon, with Albanian flag eagle and colors on them. On the background, St. Antony Church, site of pilgrimages of Albanian also from Italian Albanian communities. Thirty years have passed since the end of the Communism Era in Albania in 1990-1991. The country has been closed to any contact with the outside world for more than 45 years. As a symbol of the ideological paranoia of its dictator Enver Hoxha, every corner of the country has been covered by oval shaped Bunkers of different dimensions and use, to remind the population that they were constantly in danger and at any time they could be attacked by foreign enemies. Today the two main bunkers in the capital Tirana has been transformed in an art museum, called Bunk'Art. With the sounds and lights of the time, the exhibitions and artistic works give a sense of the constant fear and perceived need of defense themselves. Rehabilitated and restored for tourism purpose, the Bunk'Art's visitor experiments that feeling of oppression, looking forward to finish the tour to breath some air outside.
