Koniec komunizmu w Albanii - Redux

The Cap Rodon is a narrow strip of land in the shape of peninsula and was isolated and used only by military in communism time. In recent times, after the end of Communism, it has become a tourist and religious destination for its presence of Castle of Skanderbeg and St. Antony Church. Thirty years have passed since the end of the Communism Era in Albania in 1990-1991. The country has been closed to any contact with the outside world for more than 45 years. As a symbol of the ideological paranoia of its dictator Enver Hoxha, every corner of the country has been covered by oval shaped Bunkers of different dimensions and use, to remind the population that they were constantly in danger and at any time they could be attacked by foreign enemies. Today the two main bunkers in the capital Tirana has been transformed in an art museum, called Bunk'Art. With the sounds and lights of the time, the exhibitions and artistic works give a sense of the constant fear and perceived need of defense themselves. Rehabilitated and restored for tourism purpose, the Bunk'Art's visitor experiments that feeling of oppression, looking forward to finish the tour to breath some air outside.
