Thousands of North Koreans paid their respects 15 April, 2007 to the communist state's late founder Kim Il-Sung as the capital took on a festival atmosphere for his 95th birth anniversary. The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the Kim "passed away from a great mental and physical strain" at 8:30 am on December 19, 2011 (2330 GMT Friday), while on a train for one of his "field guidance" tours.
