JAN PAWEL II W WATYKANIE
PHOTO: EAST NEWS/AFP (FILES): File picture dated 13 May 1991 of Sister Lucia, the last of the three Fatima child shepherds alive, with Pope John Paul II, in Fatima. The Pope on Monday 28 June 1999 deemed "authentic" a miracle attributed to the child shepherds at the shrine of Fatima in Portugal, bringing them closer to sainthood. The Virgin Mary was said to have appeared to the children Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco in 1917 and given them three messages - one about the end of WW I, one about Russia and a third "secret" that the Vatican never revealed. The boys died in 1919 and 1920, Lucia, 92, lives as a nun.
