A prisoner shows the sleeping conditions inside the overcowded remand wing at Mile 2 prison. The boards are placed over one group of prisoners so other prisoners can sleep on top. Mile 2 is the notorious state prison where former Gambian dictator, Yahya Jammeh incarcerated many of his opponents. Human rights violations in the prison, including tortures and murder have been well documented. Despite Jammeh's exile in 2017, the prison still suffers from overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.
