Delighted Kate and Wills are "over the moon" the American event produced profits three fold more than they had expected. Officials from the event revealed the sum this week. Event organizer Ambassador Glen Holden now hopes to turn the event into a regular affair to help Prince Harry and William make millions more for good causes. The staggering profit made over the course of six hours is one of the most lucrative ever charity initiatives by Royals. It cements the global appeal and fund raising capabilities of the newlyweds. The net profits mean that almost $1.5m has gone to the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, based in St James's Palace. The charity was allocated ninety per cent of profits from the polo match held at Santa Barbara Polo Club in the seaside Californian spot last July. The event was the first major international event as a married couple, coming just two months after their marriage. Wills played in the match, where some tickets cost ten of thousands of dollars. Organisers expect around $170,000 will go to the Santa Barbara Polo Training Center, which runs events for less privileged kids in the community. Santa Barbara Polo Club Trustee Holden said: ?I am delighted to say we raised between $1.7 and $1.8m net, after all the expenses. You can be certain it is not less. ?I am extremely proud of what we did. It was a wonderful event ?I do not speak for the Palace or the Royal couple, but we were legitimately very delighted that this young couple came to Santa Barbara and gave their time. ?We were proud to have them at the club and for them to do such work for a good cause and raised such good will for England and America. ?Everyone that interacted with the Duke And Duchess thought they were so thoughtful, caring and welcoming. ?They did a marvellous job and these charities are charities that Americans are very much in favour of. They support causes like veterans, education for children and of course schools.O Holden, who has served as Trustee for almost forty years, was the lynchpin to bring Wills and Kate to the club during their whirlwind 24 hour visit to the US after their tour of Canada. The Polo Club hopes that William or brother Harry may return and make the sports event a ?biannual or regular eventO Holden added: ?Well let me just say we would be most delighted to have them come again and many people invited them. ?We don't know their plans. They are so busy but they know we would be delighted if they would come again and our club is prepared to receive that family any time they want to come, believe me.O Holden revealed how the polo event had been two years in planning, before they even knew Kate would be a bride ?She was so delightful in every way. They really made a marvellous young couple. ?They asked me what I thought we could raise and I said we will raise $650,000 or more for sure. That is the way it was. I understood and that is why I committed $650,000. ?Like gentleman we talked and there was no contract and no money was put up in advance. ?But they worked right along with us very well on making calls on sponsors and so forth. So I didn't do all the work. ?They chipped in and worked like hell.O A Palace source said: "Kate and wills loved that day and over the moon with the figures. They are considering going over again."
