Albert Uderzo (L), French author and illustrator who launched the Asterix comics strip character with author Rene Goscinny, receives from the President of the university Paris XII, Jean-Loup Salzmann (R) honorary doctorate degree for his lifetime work, at the University Paris XIII in Bobigny, Paris suburb. Uderzo received today a honorary doctorate degree for his lifetime work, to mark the 50th anniversary of the character's first appearance in 1959.
