PFH2635613 Nepal: Detail of a statue of Nepalese Prime Minister Juddha Shumsher Rana (1875 - 1952) at the Rudra Varna Mahavihar temple, Patan, Kathmandu Valley (1998); (add.info.: Rudravarna Mahavihara, or Oku Bahal, was built in the mid-17th century. The temple is located around a courtyard which overflows with chaitya and metal figures of all kinds and sizes. There are massive Garudas, elephants, peacocks, figures of praying worshippers and a statue of Juddha Shamsher Rana, who granted the temple generous restoration aid after the earthquake of 1934. Juddha Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana (Narayanhity Palace, Kathmandu, 19 April 1875 - Dehradun, India, 20 November 1952) was the Prime Minister of Nepal from 1 September 1932 to 29 November 1945 as the head of the Rana Dynasty.); Pictures from History/Chaweewan Chuchuay.
