In this picture taken 25 January 2005, Indian Progeria affected Khan family L/R: Gulasa, Ekramul, Rehana,Ali Hossain and Sanjita, pose with their parents Bisul (2L) and Rajia (3R) outside a clinic in Calcutta. Only 48 cases of what is formally known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome exist in the world, an extremely rare condition causing the body to fast-forward through the ageing process. This family's case unique is it is the only known example where more than one family member suffers from the disease. A team led by paediatrician Dr Chandan Chattopadhyay studied the family for two years and concluded progeria was an inherited and recessive condition. AFP PHOTO/ Deshakalyan CHOWDHURY
