New Jersey state police said they will check the footprints of Bruno Richard Hauptmann, alleged receiver of the Lindbergh ransom money, with the footprints left in the soft, red New Jersey mud by the persons who kidnapped Charles Lindbergh, Jr., the night of March 1, 1932. This photo shows a stake set out by New Jersey police on Sept. 22, 1934, to mark the footprints left by the kidnapers below the window of the baby???s room.
