Britain's King George VI formally declared open amid scenes of royal splendour the wonderful Empire Exhibition, which has attracted visitors from all parts of this country and the world. The King made his opening speech from a dais in Ibrox Stadium, and his stirring address was broadcast. After the opening the King and Queen toured the exhibition.
