Betel nut, sold widely throughout Myanmar, seen on the ground of a betel nut farm outside of Dawei in Southern Myanmar on 22nd November 2017. The owners of this farm are plaitiffs in a case againt Eastern Mining Company (EMC) who operate the nearby Pauk Tine tin mine, which they accuse of causing massive damage to their land. They accuse the mine owners of dumping huge amounts of waste into waterways upstream of their farm which have caused flooding and poisoning of their plantations. (Matt Grace for NRGI)
