She underwent 3 surgeries to remove traces of her cancer but continues with the disease. She says that the main impact of contamination on her family is psychological, her daughter (Denisse Nunez) created trauma of doctors and her mother has aged a lot during the last 5 years because of the concern. She is part of the UDABT (Union of people affected by oil operations in Texaco) and is dedicated to traveling through different sectors and communities to attend to contamination victims.
