Remarkably, Matt has been able to return to the water, despite his terrible injuries. FLORIDA,USA: THIS MAN was electrocuted at a voltage equivalent to SIX ELECTRIC CHAIRS during a tree trimming accident - leaving him with melted skin over twenty-five percent of his body and his ribs completely exposed. Former professional wakeskater turned motivational speaker Matt Manzari (31) from Florida, USA, found success at an early age. At just 15 years old, Matt became the first wakeskating athlete to be endorsed by Nike and travelled the world competing in the extreme water sport for eight years. Matt?s Christian faith has played a big part in his life and after completing his studies in theology at the University of Tennessee in June 2014, Matt began working with a church group - offering to trim the trees surrounding the church building. Matt began his ascent to the top canopy level in a remote controlled bucket truck whilst his newly pregnant wife Bobbye Jean (30) was working inside the church. Unfortunately, Matt had made the catastrophic error of using a steel bucket as opposed to a fiberglass one. As he got towards the canopy level, electricity from a nearby powerline was attracted to the steel bucket he was standing in, conducting across and sending 14,000 volts tearing through Matt's body. Members of the church group, including Bobbye Jean, rushed to Matt?s aid but found him in a terrible condition. The electricity had melted Matt?s skin - leaving his ribs and collar bone completely exposed. He has suffered twenty-five percent fourth and fifth degree burns meaning that the electricity had caused charring to his flesh and had even burnt through ligaments and muscles. Bobbye Jean and Matt?s parents were told that Matt was very unlikely to live to see the next day, but miraculously Matt managed to survive the night.
