WIZYTA W AUSTRALII
PHOTO: EAST NEWS/REX FEATURES QUEEN ELIZABETH II The Queen was back in the saddle yesterday (April 14) after recovering from her recent knee operation, but she has temporarily downsized to do it. Since damaging her right knee in a fall and having torn cartilage removed three months ago, the Queen has been unable to enjoy her favourite pastime. Now she has recovered sufficiently to ride again, but has swapped her normal full sized steed for a smaller pony while her knee regains full strength. The Queen rode one of Prince Phillips fell ponies at Windsor Castle, and was so pleased to be back in the saddle she smiled at visiting tourists, giving them a rare photo opportunity. A palace source said: "She really wanted to ride again but the last time she went out on a full sized horse she had to give up after 40 minutes. The pony was much more to her liking."
