Not spitting feathers.... A bird is seen spitting wood chips from it's beak as it looks to dig out a nest from the trunk of a tree. The busy brown headed barbet was spotted on the tree in Chandigarh, India.
Businessman Anuj Jain, 47, said, "Currently it is the nesting season of most bird species in this area. The bird is basically preparing the natural hole in the tree fit to lay eggs. It goes inside the tree hole and then chops of the wood with its beak and then collects them in the beak and then comes out of the nest to spit them out."
"I was really surprised to see how intelligent these birds are. When I first saw this moment, I was only praying that it repeat it as I didn't want to miss this opportunity. This process was done by both the male and the female in turn. One bird would spend around 4-5 minutes at the nest and then the other bird arrives and they swap."
