GATOR-load of this terr-apin pillow... This alligator uses a terrapin as a pillow while he catches some Z’s after a quick dip in a river. The reptilian friends were spotted on the water's edge in Magnolia plantation, Charleston, South Carolina, USA. This interaction was photographed by, Jianping Yang, 59. The software developer said, “I didn’t see much interaction as they both seemed quite tired. To me it looks as though the alligator is using the terrapin for a pillow. They were friendly toward each other and the alligator remained using the terripan as a resting spot for around half an hour.” Please byline: Jianping Yang/Solent News © Jianping Yang/Solent News & Photo Agency UK +44 (0) 2380 458800 *** Local Caption *** About the terrapin, it seemed to survive; it remained in the same spot for quite a while, still there when I departed. I believe it was a turtle resting on an alligator, not moving much. This unique scene was captured at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC, where I was visiting. A bit about me: I'm 59 years old and work as a software developer in Raleigh, NC. Can you please also provide a little more information on the scene, did you see the two animals interact further than the alligator resting on the terrapin? I really did not see them interact, I just resting on top of the other one. We would like to include a reference to the terrapin being used as a pillow, would you agree it looks as though this is happening? Yes, I believe it is. How long were the two animals sat like this? I am guessing it was a while as you mentioned they remined like this as you left. I was there for at least 30 minutes.
