Historic Green Gables estate where royalty and politicians rubbed shoulders is up for sale – including SEVEN houses and Roman pool
You can own one of California’s largest and historic Green Gables, famous for hosting European royalty, U.S. senators and luxurious galas.
The property boasts seven separate residences, spread across the entire grounds.
Previously owned by the Fleishhacker family, having remained in their possession for 110 years, the grounds are for sale for £86.6m ($110m), reports Top Ten Real Estate.
With money as no object, documents show the estate growing exponentially as Mortimer Fleishhacker worked closely with architect Charles Sumner Greene.
The Main house consists of nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a half bathroom, boasting over 11,545 sq ft of space.
With a grand foyer, a large kitchen with an accompanying butler’s pantry and several walk-in wardrobes, the house has all the luxury amenities.
Wurster House offers six beds, four baths and two half baths, along with a library, mud room and expansive garage.
Olive Grove Home is slightly smaller, with only four beds, however no less luxurious.
In addition to these, there is the five-bedroom Oak Valley Home, two-bedroom Craftsman Home, three-bedroom Craftsman Barn Home and the two-bedroom Estate Manager’s Home.
The stunning property sits on 74 acres of land, offering a one-of-a-kind garden.
With a Roman pool spanning over 100 yards, a lily pond and three swimming pools, the spectacular grounds also offer flower and vegetable gardens.
For the budding equestrians, Green Gables features a stable, tack room and comes with three horses.
Greene’s folly is a two-storey building, previously developed for Bella Fleishhacker and used to churn butter and make cream from the estate’s dairy cows.
