Finalist in the 'Reportage' category Liam Lynch's image show a mother and baby orangutan share a tender moment. THE WINNERS have been announced for the international rainforest photography competition, The Canopy Awards 2022. Australian photographer Matt Palmer takes the grand prize of $3,000 (Ł1,698) cash from Spell, and a four-night, all-inclusive stay in Daintree Rainforest in Australia. Organised by Rainforest Rescue, The Canopy Awards promote the art of rainforest photography whilst raising awareness of conservation efforts as people fight to protect the nature, culture and animal habitats of the rainforest. Matt was awarded this honour for his incredible landscape photo of the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National park in Tasmania. The judges felt the image celebrated the spirit and ideals of the competition.
