Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers tranquilised and removed a young bull moose out of a parking garage in Vail Tuesday morning (July 27) for the well-being of both the moose and the people in the area. Wildlife officers estimated the bull moose to be 2-3 years old. It was safely translocated to a remote area outside of Craig and released there in an appropriate moose habitat Tuesday afternoon. The behaviour of this moose indicated it was becoming accustomed to the area and was reluctant to leave on its own, so wildlife officers concluded translocation would be a judicious move all around. ??sEverything went smoothly this morning, no issues,??? Wildlife Officer Devin Duval said of the operation to tranquilise the bull, which started around 8:25 a.m. ??sWe were definitely within that human health and safety realm where there could potentially be an injury to a human or the animal.
