65213, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Thursday, August 11, 2011. KING OF POP - Artist Seaton Brown has immortalized Michael Jackson in a 144-square-foot portrait - using 1,680 soda cans. The larger-than-life piece is made from $600 worth of soda pop cans and is called "A Tribute to the King of Pop". The mural is made of different brands of fizzy drink including Dr Pepper, Sunkist, Cocoa Cola and Pepsi. Seaton began making the piece in his kitchen before it got so big he had to move it into his garage. Seaton, who says he doesn't even like to drink fizzy pop, used a black and white image of Jacko to work from and stuck all the cans together with glue. He said: "I'm actually not much of a soda drinker. The picture I worked from was from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' period, and the different colors picked out his different skin tones.'' To make his piece Seaton used cans he bought from a recycling centre. It has now been bought by Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in Hollywood.
