Mother of all Bonds

ADORABLE IMAGES showing the love between a mother and baby in the animal kingdom may just be able to rival the human bond.
Images show a variety of species from gorillas to elephants caring for their young.
An especially sweet moment between and rhino and a calf shows them sharing as close to a kiss as Rhinos can get.
These images were taken by photographer Gary Cox (52) from Manchester UK in a multitude of zoos throughout the UK including Flamingo Land and Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Gary took the images on his Canon 100D, he loves to capture mothers with their young as it shows the bond is not unique to the human race, animals share it too.
“It makes us realise that this bond is not unique to the human race. If anything it can be stronger in the Animal Kingdom as in the wild it can be important for survival purposes as well as nurture,” said Gary.
“I particularly love the rhino and calf photos. When visiting Flamingo Land I did not realise that they had a black rhino calf so I was thrilled to see it.
“As I was photographing it playing in its enclosure it decided to go to its mum. I was lucky enough to capture this tender moment as they gently brush nose to nose.
“Everyone loves baby animals and the only thing better is observing the special bond they have with their mothers.
“Capturing this bond within my photography makes me proud and is a beautiful moment in time.
“There are several shots that I love but I think one must be the hug the baby lemur is giving its mother. There is just no denying the deep affection between mother and baby here.
“It is always a thrill. You tend to know when you have captured something special. After that you just pray that it is in focus.
“Basically, people say ‘awwww’ or something similar. I think that says it all and you know that the photo has done its job.”
