This tower with a singular clock was erected in Donhoff Square, Berlin, Germany in 1935, as the symbol of German life. Every five minutes the bell would ring nine times which meant that nine German babies had been born every five minutes. And every five minutes the sand clock would turn, meaning that seven Germans had died. (AP Photo)
