A couple of Uncle Sam's seagoing fighting men, on leave from their warship, made a peaceful invasion of London, visiting historic sights, St. James' Park, a pub (saloon) and a veterans hospital. They were seamen 2nd Class Alexander E. Paluch of Sayreville, N.J., and Thomas Lanzillo of Cambridge, Mass. While strolling through St. James' Park, the men paused for a chat with some members of the Royal Indian Army Service Corps in London on August 3, 1942. Paluch is at the left in this photo.
