Zoo Tampa at the David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center Nonprofit critical center for injured and sick manatees, in Florida. With three 16,000gallon medical treatment pools, two underwater treatment pools, and a public observation area. They have an all female manatee care team led by Jaime Vaccaro. Lisa Dijenno, the animal care specialist is bottle-feeding orphaned juveniles. This needs to happen every 4 hours, around the clock the bottle is a mixture of baby formula medication, and oil. These juveniles will bottle feed until they reach around 600lbs an average adult ranges from 10003000 lbs. to give perspective. They are typically in rehabilitation for two years.
