One image taken from 300-feet away shows the African bull elephant placed as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow while another shot shows the rainbow laying perfectly across the elephants back. A heart-warming image shows a baby elephant seeming to stare at the end of the rainbow, looking close enough to touch. These incredible images were captured by photographer and photo guid Danielle Carstens (34) from White River South Africa. Danielle captured the images in Chobe National Park in Botswana, she used her Canon EOS R6 with Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. Local guide Danielle knows that along the Chobe River is the perfect place to get shots of majestic elephants. “From quite far away, we noticed the elephants and approached slowly. Chobe is elephant central so it’s not too difficult to find them,” said Danielle. “The stormy summer skies make for beautiful backdrops and so we searched for any animal to complete the photo. “At first, there was just a deep blue sky behind the bull elephant with only the faintest rainbow in the sky. “Next moment, a beautifully saturated rainbow appeared. It lasted for a few minutes only and we made sure to position the boat quickly to get as many photos as possible. “It took some backward-forward-backward repositioning to keep the rainbow in the shot. We then also noticed a mother with her little ones and made sure to get some photos of them grazing in the grass with the rainbow behind them. “We did get soaked by the storm not long after the photo was taken.” Danielle is aware of how lucky she is t
