Police arrest drug dealer posing as Just Eat driver ??" with drugs and money in 'food delivery' A suspected drug dealer posing as a Just East driver has been arrested while on his way to drop off an order ??"??with turned out to be a bag full of money and drugs, which have since been seized by police. The 17-year-old, who has not been named, was spotted by special constables on patrol while riding a bicycle along Great Eastern Street, heading towards Shoreditch High Street just after midnight on Saturday 11 September. The fake delivery driver was wearing a Just East-branded jacket and carrying a delivery bag with the same logo. While attempting to apprehend him, the driver tried to head off but was detained with officers noticing a strong smell of cannabis. A search found what is believed to be cannabis in individual bags, along with ?L520 and a mobile phone with information that suggested the delivery driver's involvement in drug dealings. He was arrested for possession with intent to supply class B drugs and failing to stop for police. The teenager was later taken into custody and subsequently released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out. ??sThis was an excellent piece of police work with our volunteer officers from the special constabulary stopping this boy after their suspicions were aroused and seizing drugs and cash," said chief inspector Chris Scammell, from the Central East Command Unit. "It???s solid work like this that has a real impact on keeping our communities safe. ??sEnquiries have confirmed that the boy arrested does not work for a food delivery service and we believe he was using this as a front to organise drug deals.???
