Przemysł wydobywczy w Mjanmie - Redux
A betel nut plantation on a farm east of Dawei in Southern Myanmar on 22nd November 2017. Dead palms can be seen, which have died as a result of the farm being flooded with silt and pollutants. The owners of this farm are plaintiffs in a case againt Eastern Mining Company (EMC) who operate the nearby Pauk Tine tin mine, which they accuse of causing the damage to the land. They accuse the mine owners of dumping huge amounts of waste and pollutants into waterways upstream of their farm which have caused the flooding and poisoning of their plantations.
