A grebe tries to get 40 winks after being worn out by ferrying its chick across a lake. Great Crested Grebe chicks stay close to their parents until they are big enough to fend for themselves, which is why this little chick was using its mum as a taxi across a lake in Regents Park, London. Photographer Alister Gooding, 33, spotted a group of two adult grebes and two grebettes next to a bridge under the shape of a tree leaning across the lake. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
