Tybetańczycy - Redux
Water contaminated with sewage and fouled with trash winds its way to a canal that marks the present limit of the steppe grassland slated for development in Litang. This 4,000m (13123 ft) high steppe grassland, for which Litang is famous, is becoming degraded and greatly reduced in size from the recent expansion of the city. This high elevation ecosystem is fragile and showing signs of desertification as the grassland is trampled, excavated and the organic material lost. Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan, Peoples Republic of China (Kham, Tibet).
