Tybetańczycy - Redux
Desertified grassland in Litang. Once the turf, the organic matter is removed, underneath a steppe grassland is sand. As Litang expands into the grassland, for which it is famous, there is greater pressure on the steppe grassland environment and desertification is often the result because the valley sits at an elevation of roughly 4,000 m (13123 ft) and is a fragile, marginal ecosystem. Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan, Peoples Republic of China (Kham, Tibet).
