Phuket po pandemii - Redux
As part of Phuket's opening, a drive to vaccinate 70% of the islands population got under way. Here, elderly, local people are vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine at one of Phuket airports terminals, now quiet of tourists. On July 1st Phuket Island began re-opening to vaccinated tourists after over a year of being closed. Termed the Phuket Sandbox it allows international visitors to spend the 14 day quarantine time on the island itself rather than stuck in a single hotel room. Relying heavily on tourism the COVID pandemic has been catastrophic for Phuket businesses, many of which have closed down for good.
