Tybetańczycy - Redux
Sun strikes Kangding's Guoda Mountain after snowfall the night before. For centuries, this valley has been a valuable trade route between the Chinese lowlands and the Tibetan plateau and it remains so to this day as the Sichuan - Tibet Highway passes through here and on up over 4,298 meter (14101 ft) Zheduo Pass. Kangding, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Peoples Republic of China (Dartsendo, Kham, Tibet). Kangding, formerly known as Dartsendo, has for centuries been regarded as the border between the Chinese realm and the Tibetan one. In fact, during the Three Kingdoms Period, as legend would have it, Chinese Ruler Zhuge Liang (AD 181 - 234) arranged in a negotiation with a Tibetan chieftain to fire an arrow and wherever it landed would mark the borderline between the Chinese realm and the Tibetan one. That arrow was said to have impaled Guoda Mountain.
