The video shows the boy, Adam Toledo, being shot as he puts up his hands and it does not appear that he is holding a weapon, despite what Chicago's Mayor and officials said leading up to the release. The videos released Thursday by Chicago's Civilian Office of Police Accountability, which is investigating the shooting, include body cameras worn by responding officers and third-party video, along with ShotSpotter recordings, which monitor and record gunshots. Earlier Thursday, Mayor Lori Lightfoot asked for peace and described the videos as "excruciating to watch."
