France, Bagnolet, 27 April 2020 Looking Around ? Lockdown Diary. Ali is what we call a "Chibani". He has been living alone in a foster home for almost forty years. For him Ramadan is a time of spirituality, sharing and conviviality. The afternoons preparing dinner with friends and then the long evenings playing dominoes and chatting. He tells me: "Even though we have been locked up together for several weeks, people are sad, everyone is closed in on himself. They no longer stay in the common areas, we are all in our rooms. But what I miss the most is not being able to go to the mosque and to feel this special fervor that there is during Ramadan. Now everyone prays alone in his room. I preferred to create a small space on the 6th floor landing, on this floor there are no residents and all the rooms are closed. There I am quiet to make my prayers, I also stay there for hours to think, look at the world through the window and listen to the birds singing". France, Bagnolet, 27 avril 2020 Garder les yeux ouverts ? Journal d'un confinement. Ali est ce que l'on appelle un ? Chibani ?. Ill vit seule en foyer depuis presque quarante ans. Pour lui le ramadan est un moment de spiritualite, de partage et de convivialite. Ces aprcs-midi r preparer le diner avec les amis et puis ces longues soirees r jouer aux dominos et r discuter. Il me dit: ? Meme si nous sommes confines tous ensemble depuis plusieurs semaines, les gens sont tristes, chacun est referme sur lui-meme. Ils ne restent plus dans les parties communes, nous sommes tous dans nos chambres. Mais ce qui me manque le plus c'est de ne pas pouvoir aller r la mosquee et de ressentir cette ferveur si particulicre qu'il y a pendant le ramadan. Maintenant chacun prie seul dans sa chambre. Moi j'ai prefere m'amenager un petit espace sur le palier du 6cme, r cet etage il n'y a pas de residents et toutes les chambres sont fermees. Lr j'y suis tranquille pour y faire mes pricres, j'y reste aussi des heures pour penser, regarder le
