Ezra, 19, is a sophomore studying at Pitzer College with an undeclared major. Due to the pandemic, this semester he is taking a gap year and pursuing a job with Census. Ezra poses for an environmental portrait outside of his family's home before heading to work on Friday, September 4, 2020 in Montclair, New Jersey. This series of environmental portraits documents college students who have opted to stay home during their 2020 Fall Semester. Students "work spaces"?are captured, revealing the authenticity of their individual situations, while portraying the commonality of a shared experience. The Covid-19 Pandemic has tested the entire nation, and college students are no exception. Whether campus is open or not, many enrolled students are confused about their next move. Should they stay home or return to campus? Either way, they share the same feeling of being cheated out of a college experience. To navigate this, students have gotten creative. Many decided to take online classes, some have transitioned to part-time, some have switched to a community college, while others have deferred, taking on jobs or internships to fill the time
